The Texas Amateur Athletic Federation is a nonprofit organization established in 1925 to promote, organize, and conduct amateur  athletics in the state of Texas (TAAF).  Bannon's Gymnastix competes in TAAF sanctioned meets because they are a less intense competitive setting than USAG. Many of the gymnasts that compete TAAF work out fewer hours than USAG competitive gyms.

There are five divisions in the Xcel program: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. All of the Xcel divisions have optional rules. We encourage out gymnasts to compete three qualifying meets plus state in the competition season, beginning in January. Competitive gymnastics builds character and confidence as the girls learn to handle nerves, encourage teammates, and track their improvement throughout the season.
